ABOUT CEPECAM

In 1988 a film director and ecologist Zygmunt Sulistrowski founded CEPECAM-NGO (No governmental and non-profits organization) THE RESEARCH AND PRESERVATION CENTER OF THE AMAZONIAN ECOLOGY, with the following principal by-laws:

A) To continue the preservation of the Great Ecological Reserve "THE FOREST OF LIFE", founded by Zygmunt in 1976 on 27.000acres of Thousands of years old primary Rain Forest, at his historical ranch "FAZENDA SÃO FRANCISCO", near Manaus - Amazonas - Brazil.

B) To organize in collaboration with Universities and with scientific environmental organizations in Brazil and abroad, SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH CERTER, to be based at THE FOREST OF LIFE, facilitating biological researches at the extremely rich biodiversity of our Reserve, for the benefit of mankind.

C) To promote in Brazil and abroad, with films, videos, publications and lectures, a better knowledge of the importance and splendor of the Amazonian Ecology, which must be preserved by living in harmony with nature.

D) To operate The Ecological Adventure Tourism so that the profitç of it can sustain our activities.

THE FOREST OF LIFE located in the middle of the encounter of two different biologic impacts from two different ecossistems of Rio Negro and Solimões River has a very fascinating biodiversity different from all other regions. For that reason it is very important to preserve and protect it from destruction.
