You are all welcome to visit us and live for a few days and nights, in harmony with nature, getting overwhelmed by it's might and beauty and the never ending source of energy, at the Great Ecological ReserveTHE FOREST OF LIFE, distant with 50 km from Manaus - Amazonas - Brasil.
The amazonian NGO-CEPECAM -The Research and Preservation Center of the Amazonia Ecology, promoting a better knowledge and need of the preservation of the Amazonia Rain Forest, organizes fascinating, inspiring and unforgettable ENVIRONMENTAL VISITS to this thousands of years old Tropical Rain Forest, of the Great Ecological Reserve THE FOREST OF LIFE, Found and preserved, since 1976, by the film Director Zygmunt Sulistrowski. Visits from one to four days and nights, as per the visitor's preference.
In order to give a best attendance to our visitors, the Nature lovers, scientists and students, we operate with small groups, from 2 to 8 people. This way it becomes possible to adopt our program to the visitor's desire.
     
For lodging, our jungle base, has four apartments, all with a private bathroom, electric light and a large fan. We can also accommodate more visitors in hammocks in-door and, visitors who may so prefer, out-door in hammocks with mosquito nets, in the open air “chapéu de palha”.
     

For our visitors who prefer more comfort, air condition and rest instead of a full time of activities in the Jungle and on the tributaries, we provide it for them in the neighborhood, without any extra charge.

     
   As per our program, the jungle base is used by our visitors to sleep, eat and rest. Most of the time is to be spend in the Forest and on the lakes and tributaries.  

Surrounded by the overwhelming beauty of the biodiversity at the FOREST OF LIFE, our guides inform about the great variety of medical plants and about the survival in the jungle. Incidentally, the famous American Television program “Survival” was filmed at THE FOREST OF LIFE.

Our visitors learn also how to live in harmony with nature, using all that nature offers, without destroying it.

Since during the last 30 years, hunting and exploration of timber are forbidden; THE FOREST OF LIFE became a jungle paradise for millions of animal’s insects and birds.
 

The jungle is generous with all people who integrate with nature.

There is plenty of vegetarian food at the Rain Forest, but one must know how to catch them. For those who like fish, there are many in the tributaries, so one must learn how to fish them.

To kill thirst there are many “cipos” with clean and tasty water. Jungle is like a nature pharmacy, there are many plants good for any need. However one must be careful, since some of the plants may kill.

Fishing piranhas and spotting alligators are some of the fascinating parts of our program. After photographing them, return to freedom in water.

  
     
To rest or to sleep in the jungle, or to protect yourself from rain, making a “Tapiri” with the help of our guides is well compensated by the possibility of resting and enjoying life in the hammock.
     
After having spend all day in the forest, to enjoy dinner in the Tapiri, is very rewarding and to fall asleep surrounded by the night voice of the Rain Forest, becomes a fabulous and unforgettable experience.

According to scientists from the Smithsonian Institution, who performed research at this reserve, it's very rich biodiversity is different from all other regions, due to the fact that it is the only one located in the middle of the encounter of two different biological impacts from two different ecosystems of the giant Negro and Solimões rivers.  
 

The overwhelming beauty of the reserve, creates desire to discover the secrets of nature. Many of our visitors feel that the magestly of nature serves as mental terapy.

For the above reason, it is so much more important to continue the preservation of the FOREST OF LIFE, for which we hope to become recognized by UNESCO as an Scientific Ecological Reserve of Universal Interest.

Here, the visitors from all parts of the world come and mingle together, all attracted by the same desire of knowing and feeling the splendor and the importance of the Amazonian ecology.

Visiting the neighboring native population to learn about their life, beliefs and superstitions, makes also part of our program.
